This is probably Singapore's latest installment of adrenaline pumping, breath taking sport.

Officially opened on the 18th may 2011, i got to try it on the 20th, thanks to Shu Ling for the invitation.

It's the world's first largest themed wind tunnel for indoor skydiving. Minus away all the danger like jumping from a plane, wind conditions, hard landings, hitting into a poor bird or plane. It's absolutely safe!

I personally had not tried skydiving before and i thought hey why not give it a try!

I was first directed to a dark room where they showed some video clips and animations to address what are we going to expect inside the wind tunnel.

The wind tunnel is about 5 stories high with wind speeds at 177 km/h. It can accommodate up to 20 flyers at the same time in the wind tunnel. But of course as a beginner, only 1 is allowed at one time. The sport is supposed to exercise your neck, shoulder, back and thighs.

Indoor skydiving cost only 1/5 of the price of a tandem jump. In case u don't know what's a tandem jump, tandem jump is where both you and the instructor jump off the plane, and you get attached to the tandem instructor via a harness and he will direct you safety to the ground. I don't know for others, i think if the instructor's a guy and having a dick poking behind your ass for the whole jump i guess should feel uncomfortable. But anyway that was side track.

Moving on to the next room, an instructor was assigned to us to teach us the proper position we should maintain inside the wind tunnel. Mine was the wrong demonstration i guess, because i cannot fly for nuts later inside the tunnel. I don't think i'm that fat that i cannot generate lift, or maybe i am :(

The various hand signals were demonstrated to us like when to relax, when to straighten our legs or bend our legs, position of arms high or low. Because it's going to be loud inside the tunnel and that's the only form of communication.

A few safety pointers we have to take note. Like must not be pregnant at the point of time, not under the influence of alcohol, cannot weigh 120kg (height less than 180cm) or 140kg (height more than 180cm), did not previously dislocated your shoulders.

All is set and we're ready to go!

That's the first thing i saw when we went upstairs. The flight schedule, it's about 30 mins per group. Each person will get to fly twice. So better learn fast, or money will be wasted!

This is how the suit looks like. Very well covered from the head to toes.

The wind blast inside was no joke. It was as good as the real thing. Faces were almost distorted against the wind from below. But yet have to maintain the posture for a good lift. As i mentioned i couldn't really fly inside, need the instructor to hold on to me. Initially even wanted to do some somersaults, pull some stunts. But i should just forget it.

Notice the 2 young girls in orange jump suit? I was told they are the young ambassadors of iFLY! They were really well trained, to be able to perform alot of stuns.

Last but not least after the flight, we were given a certificate proving that we did complete the flight and survived!

The food outlet they have inside the facility was O'Briens. I ordered their sandwiches and it was good!
